It is with great sadness we announce the death of Eric Robert Skeoch, who died suddenly on August 4th, 2024, at the age of 84.
Eric will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Judy and his sons, Robert and David (Julie), his grandchildren, Rachel and Amy, brother Alan (Marjorie), sister-in-law Pam Favager, his nephews Kevin and Andy (Julie), as well as his great nieces and nephew.
Eric was a much-loved principal at North Toronto Collegiate, retiring with Judy to a farm on top of Blue Mountain. He enjoyed the outdoor life and travelling though always looked forward to returning home to the farm and his beautiful barn where his creative talents in woodworking and gardening began.
His many friends and neighbours relied on barn treasures which Eric was always happy to share accompanied with a funny story on how he acquired the array of gadgets and tools.
His love of the outdoors included skiing, which he enjoyed up to his 83rd year.
Eric was a dog lover for most of his life, but more recently a couple of barn cats, Coco and Harry gave him great joy.
Our family would like to give thanks to the staff at Princess Margaret and Collingwood General and Marine Hospital for the care given to Eric during his illness.
Eric, we will really miss your witty sense of humour and wonderful stories. We will love and miss you always and forever.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Collingwood General and Marine Hospital or Doctors Without Borders, would be gratefully appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca
A celebration of Eric’s Life will take place at the Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 1 until 4 p.m., with tributes at 2 o’clock.
What we have done for others, and the world, remains…immortal.”
